The government mission for Sustainable Place Development aims to develop:
- sustainable, competitive places for visitors, businesses, local people and civil society/organisations, which in turn contribute to sustainable, competitive destinations
- knowledge of how site development can be used for the coordinated development of tourism and hospitality, for the benefit of different target groups (visitors, businesses and local communities)
- knowledge of how tourism and hospitality can be better integrated into various local and regional processes
